Thursday September 18, 2008 – Automatic Mutual aid Eaton. 4266 State Route 26 barn fire. A 70 -75 foot by 20- 25 foot storage barn fully involved in a wooded area. The barn stored numerous vintage vehicles. Morrisville responded 241, 242, 245, 246, 248 with 30 personnel. Other mutual aid responding to assist Eaton were Hamilton rescue 195 and tanker 196, Earlville tanker 156, Madison tanker 236 and mini pumper 234, Munnsville tanker/pumper 251. Cazenovia was placed on stand by for both Morrisville and Eaton during the incident. The building was a total loss and no injuries were reported. Wednesday August 20, 2008 – Automatic Mutual aid Smithfield structure fire Swamp School Road. 242, 245, 246, 247 responded. The recently unoccupied residence was “fully involved” when reported by a passing Madison County Deputy Sheriff. Other Mutual aid responding departments included Cazenovia, Lincoln, Munnsville, Canastota, Wampsville.
Sunday July 20, 2008 – Mutual aid Eaton. River Road 2 miles South of Eaton for a farm tractor versus car motor vehicle accident with entrapment. 242 and 248 responded. The operator of the car was trapped in the car. Both departments used “Jaws” for over a hour to free the victim. Southern Madison County ambulance assisted on the scene. Morrisville alert time 10:12 Out of Service 10:13 On scene 10:20 Back in Service 12:15.
Thursday April 17, 2008 – Structure fire Pratt Road. Garage with a saw mill. On arrival building well involved. Embers from the building caused a very large outdoors fire. Mutual aid received from Eaton, Munnsville, Hamilton and Smithfield. Cazenovia was on stand by at Morrisville during the incident. Munnsville left our fire and responded to a structure fire in Oneida castle. Eaton responded from our fire to multiple outdoors fires in Georgetown.
Thursday March 13, 2008 – Automatic Mutual aid Munnsville. Barn fire Bishop Road. 241, 246, 247, 248 responded. Large barn well involved on arrival of firefighters. Mutual aid departments responding to assist Munnsville were, Morrisville, Smithfield, Lincoln, Oneida Castle to the scene. Madison stood by at Munnsville. Hamilton stood by at Morrisville. Cazenovia was on stand by for Smithfield. Morrisville Alert time 07:57 Out of Service 08:02 Scene 08:17 Back in Service 13:49.
Saturday April 12, 2008 – Automatic Mutual aid Eaton Robert Road structure fire. Large single family house well involved on arrival. Numerous tankers were called into shuttle water from about 2 miles away. Mutual aid departments responding to assist Eaton were Morrisville, Erieville, Georgetown, Hamilton, Cazenovia, Earlville, Madison and Smithfield. Lincoln stood by at Morrisville during the incident.
Thursday February 28, 2008 – Mutual aid Munnsville. Route 46 just north of the village of Munnsville. Car/School Bus MVA with entrapment. 2451, 248 responded with EMS personnel to the scene and 241 stood by at the Munnsville Station. Over 30 patients were checked out by EMS. 5 were transported to area hospitals. The driver of the van had to be extricated by the “JAWS”. Oneida City assisted with the extrication. Vinall Ambulance also responded to the scene. Morrisville Alert time 14:58 Out of Service 15:01 Scene 15:13 Back in Service 16:47.
Thursday February 21, 2008 – Automatic Mutual aid Munnsville. Barn fire Streeter Road. 241, 245, 246, 247 responded. Other departments responding included Oneida Castle and Smithfield. Morrisville Alert time 16:56 Out of Service 16:58 Scene 17:07 Back in Service 19:01.
Tuesday February 19, 2008 – Automatic Mutual aid Eaton. Chimney fire Church Road. 241, 245, 246, 247 responded. On arrival of Eaton FD a full arrest was reported on the scene. Morrisville Alert time 18:27 out of Service 18:29 Scene 18:35 Back in Service 20:11.
Sunday February 10, 2008 – Automatic Mutual aid Eaton. Structure fire Church Road. 241, 245, 246, 248 responded. A double wide with smoke visible. A quick aggressive attack stopped the fire in the kitchen area. Other mutual aid responding departments were Hamilton and Earlville. Monday January 21, 2008 – Automatic Mutual aid Munnsville. Barn fire Middle Road at Green Road. 241, 245, 246, 247, 248 responded. Mutual aid departments responding to Munnsville were Morrisville, Smithfield, Oneida Castle. Morrisville Alert time 17:34 Out of Service 17:37 Scene 17:52 Back in Service 21:02.
Saturday December 29, 2007 – Structure fire 128 East Main Street. On arrival of chief’s 240 and 2401 the rear of the 2 story house was well involved. 240 radioed a working fire and requested a re-alert for a “All Hands” fire. Engine 241 approached the scene and were instructed to “Lay in from the hydrant located on East Main Street about 300 feet west of the fire. Truck 247 arrived 2nd and was unable to set the ladder. The limited size road made it difficult for vehicles to get into the scene. Engine 242 arrived a stretched to a hydrant on South Street about 900 feet from the scene. Automatic mutual aid from Cazenovia brought in a RIT team and Eaton responded a engine. Additional mutual aid was received from Madison, Munnsville for a rescue with manpower and the Smithfield FD stood by at the Morrisville station with a engine and rescue. SEVAC and SOMAC ambulance also assisted on the scene. 1 Morrisville firefighter injured his ankle when he slipped on the ice. He was transported to Hamilton hospital where he was treated and released. The building received moderate damage. Morrisville alert 02:41 Out 02:45 Scene 02:46 Back in Service 09:19.
Wednesday December 5, 2007 – Automatic Mutual Aid Cazenovia. Structure fire 4192 Meadow Hill Road. On alert MFD was requested to stand by. After Cazenovia chief arrived MFD was requested into scene. An elderly resident was rescued by members of Cazenovia FD. Mutual aid departments responding to assist Cazenovia were Morrisville, New WoodStock, Erieville, Delphi Falls, Manlius, Fayetteville, Fabius and Pompey Hill. MFD alerted 17:48 on Stand by 17:51 Requested to Scene 18:00 On Scene 18:16 Back in Service 20:41. MFD responded 245 and 246 to scene. 241 and 248 responded to Cazenovia station for stand by.
Wednesday September 5, 2007 – Automatic Mutual aid Eaton. Structure fire Huntington Camp Road. 241, 245, 246,248 responded. On dispatch building was reported “fully involved and down”. On arrival of first vehicles the back side (an addition) of the building was down however the rest of the building was still involved with heavy fire. Additional mutual aid was requested from Erieville: 1 tanker and manpower, and Georgetown: 1 tanker and manpower. The building was a total loss. The Munnsville fire department was on stand by at the Morrisville station during the incident. Morrisville alert time 22:58 responding 22:59 On Scene 23:07 Back in Service 03:17.
Saturday August 25, 2007 – Mutual aid Eaton, MVA with entrapment Route 26 near Candy Lane. 245 and 248 responded. 241 responded for a landing zone. Helicopter could not fly due to weather. 2 occupants of the vehicle were trapped. Morrisville alert 23:00 Responding 23:01 Scene 23:08 Back in Service 00:47.
Wednesday August 15, 2007 – Mutual aid Smithfield. Hay wagon (loaded) on fire in front of Smithfield’s station. 245, 246, 248 responded. 18 personnel responded from Morrisville responded and assisted with removing and extinguishing the hay. Alert 17:12 Out 17:15 Scene 17:22 Back in Service 19:51.
Friday August 10, 2007 – MVA 2 vehicles, Rocks Road at Fearon Road. 1 of the occupants of one of the vehicles had to be extricated with the “JAWS”. Extrication took about 15 minutes to complete. Mutual aid received from Madison FD ambulance 239, Eaton FD ambulance 169 SOMAC Ambulance to the scene and CAVAC ambulance stood by in the Morrisville area during the accident. 241, 245 and 248 responded. Alert 16:53 Out 16:57 Scene 17:02 Back in Service 18:00.
Monday August 6, 2007 – MVA car into a barn Eaton Road. A law enforcement vehicle responding to another MVA in the Eaton fire district, was cut off by a vehicle on Eaton Road near West Road. Vehicle lost control and struck the barn owned by Morrisville State College. The vehicle started to smoke and a fire began under the vehicle with some hay at the entrance to the barn. The fire was quickly knocked down and the law enforcement officer was transported by SEVAC ambulance to a local hospital to be checked out. 241, 2451 responded.
Friday August 3, 2007 – MVA 2 vehicles State Route 20 and State Route 46 with entrapment. 241, 245, 248 responded. Eaton ambulance was dispatched first and also responded. The occupant of 1 of the vehicles had to be extricated from her vehicle. That occupant was air lifted by MERCY helicopter to a Syracuse hospital.
Sunday July 22, 2007 – MVA Route 20 West (Town of Nelson) and Willowvale Road reported as “Serious”. 241, 245, 2451 and 248 responded. On arrival 2 vehicles involved one being on its side. Occupants trapped in each vehicle. Both sets of Morrisville “JAWS” were put to work and mutual was received from Eaton for a ambulance and heavy rescue, Smithfield for a Landing zone. CAVAC and SOMAC for ambulances and a helicopter. The driver of one of the vehicles passed away on the scene from injuries received. Madison County Sheriff’s handled the MVA and were assisted by New York State Police. Route 20 was closed from Nelson to Morrisville (About a 7 mile stretch) for nearly 6 hours while law enforcement officers worked to reconstruct the accident. Friday March 9, 2007 – Structure fire 5525 Christian Hill Road. 241, 242, 245, 246, 248 responded. On arrival of chief 240 flames were observed from a single-wide trailer and a small barn about 30 foot by 30 foot. State Police were on scene as firefighters arrived and reported it was possible a resident could still be inside the trailer. No one was in the buildings at the time. No injuries were reported. Mutual aid was received from Cazenovia and Eaton on the automatic. Madison and Smithfield responded Tankers and Earlville responded man power. Munnsville was on stand by. During the fire a reported MVA with entrapment was received on Hart Road at Eaton Road, 248 and Munnsville responded however no injuries on scene.
Sunday March 4, 2007 – Automatic Mutual aid Cazenovia, Ballina Road Barn fire. 241, 245, 246 ,248 responded. Mutual aid responding departments to Cazenovia included. From Madison County – Erieville, Morrisville, New Woodstock, DeRuyter. From Onondaga County – Manlius, Delphi Falls. Cazenovia made a quick hit and stopped the fire quickly.
Saturday March 3, 2007 – Automatic Mutual aid Smithfield. House fire East Mile Strip Road. 241, 245, 246 and 248 responded. No injuries reported. Mutual aid departments responding to assist Smithfield were Morrisville, Cazenovia, Lincoln, Munnsville and Canastota. Pictures will be on picture page.
Friday February 9, 2007 – Mutual aid Earlville. Structure fire West Main Street. 241, 245, 246 & 248 responded. The structure was “TOTALLY” involved on arrival. 2 neighboring structures 1 on each side of the fire building were in danger of becoming involved. Earlville made a excellent attack and saved the adjacent buildings although both buildings did have some minor damage. The original building involved was a total loss. Departments responding to assist Earlville were from Madison County – Hamilton, Eaton, Morrisville, Hubbardsville, North Brookfield. From Chenango County– Sherburne, Smyrna, North Norwich. Munnsville and Brookfield were on stand by.

Friday January 19, 2007 – Mutual aid Madison 6633 Route 20 for a house fire. House was well involved when Madison arrived. Mutual aid responding departments were from Madison County – Morrisville, Hamilton, Eaton, Munnsville, Earlville. From Oneida County Oriskany Falls and Vernon. Departments on stand by were Deansboro and Cazenovia. No injuries were reported.
Friday December 29, 2006 – Mutual aid Smithfield, MVA Swamp Road ½ mile North of Fearon Road, 2 vehicles. 241, 245, 248 responded. A prolonged extrication was required. The operator of one of the vehicles passed away from injuries sustained in the accident.
Wednesday December 27, 2006 – Automatic Mutual Aid Cazenovia, house fire Route 92. Reports of a handicapped person still in the residence. The person was removed safely prior to arrival of fire department. Morrisville responded 245, 246 and 248. Departments responding to assist Cazenovia besides Morrisville were New Woodstock, Manlius, Delphi Falls and Pompey. House sustained moderate damage.
Monday October 2, 2006 – Automatic Mutual aid Smithfield, trailer fire Buyea Road. 241 responded but were relocated to the Smithfield station for stand by; fire was in Lincoln’s district. The trailer was a total loss.
Monday September 18, 2006 – Automatic Mutual Aid Cazenovia. House fire 2565 Fenner Road. 245 & 246 responded. The house sustained moderate damage. Department responding mutual aid to Cazenovia included. Morrisville, Erieville, New Woodstock and Manlius. Morrisville Alert time 07:17 Units responding 07:20 On scene 07:32 All Morrisville units Back in Service 12:02.
Monday May 15, 2006 – Automatic Mutual aid Munnsville. Structure fire at Ferris industries on Route 46. 241, 245, 248 responded. Fire confined to a paint room. Other departments responding to assist Munnsville included Smithfield and Oneida Castle.
Wednesday April 19, 2006 – Automatic Mutual aid Cazenovia. Structure fire at Harris Cleaners on Albany Street. The building was the prior P&C grocery store and was a working fire on arrival. Morrisville responded 245 on the automatic response. 241, 247, and 248 responded on the 2nd alarm. Other departments responding to assist Cazenovia included, from Madison County Erieville, New Woodstock and Chittenango. From Onondaga County Manlius, Fayetteville, Delphi Falls, and Pompey Hill.
Saturday April 8, 2006 – Structure fire 4393 Old County Road. 241, 246 245 responded. Automatic Mutual aid from Cazenovia was canceled. Eaton engine 161 responded to the Morrisville station for stand by. The building a 20 foot by 10 foot building was destroyed. Alert 01:58 Out 02:01 Scene 02:05 Back in Service 05:10.
Wednesday March 29, 2006 – Mutual aid City of Oneida. Forest Ave large outdoors fire. Morrisville was originally alerted to stand by for Smithfield who had responded to the large outdoors fire in the City of Oneida. Morrisville then was requested to respond 4 wheel drive unit 248 with manpower to assist on the scene. Numerous departments from Madison and Oneida County were called in to assist.
Friday March 17, 2006 – Automatic Mutual aid Cazenovia, 1812 Route 20 for a working structure fire. 245, 246 responded, to the scene and 241 responded to Cazenovia station for stand by. Erieville and New Woodstock also responded. Alert 09:38 Back in Service 15:21.
Tuesday February 28, 2006 – MULTIPLE MVA’s. Around 14:30 chief 240 came upon a 1 car roll over with two people trapped in their vehicle on Swamp Road. 242, 245 responded. While responding to the accident scene a New York State Police vehicle was involved in an injury accident. 248 responded to the 2nd MVA as did Eaton Ambulance 169 for transport. At this time Smithfield fire department was called for fire police to shut down Swamp Road. A 3rd MVA was dispatched while crews were starting operations at the first 2 MVA’s at the corner of State Route 20 and State Route 46 a car into the building with injuries. Morrisville 241 along with Madison fire department rescue 231 and ambulance 239 responded to the 3rd call. Southern Madison County ambulance was placed on stand by. While crews were starting to return a 4th alarm was received for a medical emergency in the village.
Friday January 6, 2006 – Automatic Mutual aid Eaton. House fire Landon Road. 241, 245, 246 and 248 responded. House fully involved on arrival and was a total loss. Mutual aid responding to Eaton included Morrisville, Hamilton, Madison and Munnsville. Smithfield was on Stand by at Morrisville and Earlville was on stand by at Eaton. SOMAC ambulance was on stand by at the scene.
Friday December 16, 2005 – Automatic Mutual Aid Cazenovia, structure fire Francis Road. 245, 246, 248 responded. A garage fully involved on arrival was destroyed. The recent ice storm (last evening) made getting to the building difficult. A long up hill driveway to the building was ice covered. Mutual aid responding to Cazenovia included Morrisville, New Woodstock, and Erieville.
Sunday December 4, 2005 – Mutual Aid Eaton (Automatic was not activated by the Madison County 911 center) structure fire Wendover Road. 241, 245, 248 responded. Hamilton responded 195 as the RIT Team. Fire started in the chimney area and spread to the structure. 1` room had some damage, the building is salvageable.
Wednesday November 23, 2005 – Automatic Mutual aid Munnsville, Route 46 in the Village of Munnsville. Apartment building above the funeral home, possibly with residents still in the building. 241, 245 responded. As Munnsville arrived some smoke was visible. No fire just a furnace malfunction. Oneida Castle and Smithfield (also on the automatic mutual aid) were cancelled and Morrisville was to continue to the Munnsville station for stand by.
Tuesday November 15, 2005 – Automatic Mutual aid Eaton, lot 11 Isabell trailer park, smoke in the trailer possible furnace problem. 241, 246 responded. On arrival fire was observed under the trailer. Skirting was removed and the fire quickly extinguished.
Sunday November 13, 2005 – Mutual Aid Erieville, structure fire Erieville Road. 246 responded. Building was FULLY involved on arrival. Mutual Aid departments responding to assist Erieville were Cazenovia, Georgetown, Morrisville and Eaton.
Friday November 11, 2005 – Mutual Aid Hamilton, 20 West Pleasant Ave. Structure fire, 245 and 248 responded. A (2) story garage with a apartment well involved in fire. Morrisville was alerted for the R.I.T. team. After the fire was knocked down Morrisville personnel assisted with salvage and over haul. Madison fire department was placed on stand by during the incident.
Thursday October 6, 2005 – MVA Route 20 and Route 46. 241, 245, 248 responded. Truck/car (T-bone). Driver of car was pinned. Extrication took 40 minutes to complete. Patient was air lifted by MERCY flight to a Syracuse hospital. Madison ambulance and fire department assisted on the scene. Alert 14:25 Out 14:28 Scene 14:32 Extrication complete 15:12 Back in Service 17:14.
Sunday October 2, 2005 – Mutual Aid Madison, Fuess Road at Cole Street Barn fire. A very large active dairy barn totally involved on arrival. A tractor and spreader appear to be the cause of the fire. Due to location and a very dry summer water supply became a concern. Multiple locations were used to fill tankers. 2 fill sites became unusable after most of the water was taken. Tankers were shuttling water 3-4 miles one way. Mutual aid departments responding to assist Madison were, from Madison County Hamilton, Morrisville, Munnsville. From Oneida County were Oriskany Falls, Deansboro, Waterville, Vernon Center, Clinton, Oneida Castle. Departments standing by included Eaton and Earlville.
